This March, Stela H. Seo MSc attended the 2015 ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction (HRI 2015) to present finding generated from a joint University of Manitoba and ZenFri research project about human empathy towards computer controlled characters as presented across animation, augmented reality and robotics.
This innovative research project lead by the University of Manitoba’s Professor Jim Young through the HCI Labs was made with the support and collaboration of ZenFri and funded through the NCERC Engage program.
You can now read full paper, as presented at the conference here: “Poor Thing! Would You Feel Sorry for a Simulated Robot? A comparison of empathy toward a physical and a simulated robot”
More details about the research and a full list of contributors is available on the HCI Labs website.
