We’re really excited to announce that ZenFri’s very own Corey King has been selected as one of three finalist for the Future Leaders of Manitoba Award in the 26-32 age category.

The Future Leaders of Manitoba believes that Manitoba’s future rests on its ability to encourage and attract exceptional young people to live and work in the Province. Founded in 2007, the organization hosts an annual award ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of Manitoba’s future leaders.

Speaking about his nomination, Corey had this to say:

“I’m humbled and honoured to be named as a finalist for the Future Leader of Manitoba award. For nearly ten years I’ve chosen to make Manitoba my home. The community here has been very supportive, and I deeply appreciate that.”

“In my time here,” he continues “I’ve learned never to underestimate what Manitoba is capable of, it’s a city brimming with talent, leadership and innovative thinkers. So long as we can utilize our talent, and continue to support small, innovative companies, and long-term visionary leadership, the city has a bright future ahead.”

The Future Leaders of Manitoba Award Show will take place on February 4th and the Fort Garry Hotel ballroom and will feature Manitoba-inspired gourmet food, and performances by local artists and musicians.

Update – February 2nd 2016: Last Week Corey did an interview with 680 CJOB regarding his Future Leaders of Manitoba nomination. In it he talks about the founding of ZenFri and why we went into video gaming. Here’s a selection from the full interview.
