Tomorrow night IGDA Winnipeg is going to host a long-waited for event hear all about ZenFri’s CMF-Funded Clandestine: Anomaly project and their recent Kickstarter!

When: Wednesday – May 29th – 7:00PM
Where: Main Floor Theatre – Red River College (Princess Campus)
After – King’s Head Pub for some much needed socializing!

Clandestine: Anomaly is an innovative first-of-its-kind Emergent Reality Game being build right here in Winnipeg by the creative arts company ZenFri Inc. The game sets out to create the narrative and gamplay conventions needed to literally turn the whole world into a game-board. Utilizing real world locations in your community and around the world as the backdrop for an epic Sci-fi RPG Tower Defense game, in Clandestine you’re not merely an avatar and your mobile device isn’t just a control interface, you are you, your phone is a phone and the front line is your neighborhood.

Using state-of-the-art augmented reality technology, your neighborhood will be populated with 3D, fully animated characters units and situations, which you can interact with and even control in near to real-time.

To help jump start the production phase of this ambitious game, ZenFri has taken the project to the crowd funding site Kickstarter.

Talk Description

Clandestine: Anomaly creator Corey King and some of his team will be discussing the process of developing the game up to now, from conception, to intial development funding through the trials and tribulations of ZenFri working on their first game, through to Kickstarter. What we’ve learned, and why we’re doing it will all be discussed with some hints towards where we see the future not only of this game, but of Emergent Reality Gaming in general.
